The following table was compiled by Regina Morrow Riley in February 1997. The sample population was from a list of 662
names taken from the daily order books of Wayne’s Legion of the United States. The names were then traced to the country
of origin of each particular surname. It was not surprising to conclude that 84.59% of the Legion were from English, Irish
Scottish and Welsh ancestry.
