Re: Legion Ville Preservation Issue

Dear Governor Rendell:

It is with great interest and concern I have read the issues surrounding the controversy in regard to the preservation of Legion Ville and Logstown located in Beaver County.  I commend the efforts of the Legion Ville Historical Society, Inc., to preserve the 1792-1793 military training camp and fortification of Major General Anthony Wayne. I strongly believe that our nation’s heritage should not be sacrificed in the name of commercial development.  I also firmly believe that the graves of United States soldiers should not be allowed to be bulldozed or otherwise destroyed.

We as a nation should be proud of our rich history and put forth an effort for which our cultural resources will be preserved for future generations to learn, enjoy and take pride in. I ask that you, as Governor of the great State of Pennsylvania join and support the preservation efforts of those who truly value their American heritage.

Sincerely,
