Rifleman Janicki, recently on a scouting mission, reports to Surgeon's Mate Bistarkey and Captain Riley.

Private William Fluharty, 1st Sub-Legion, stands guard at the commander's tent.

Private William Byrd, 3rd Sub-Legion, Artillery, services a "King" Howitzer.

This is my favorite photo.  William F. Byrd, son of a Colonel who was also a son of a Colonel.  Bill's grandfather led the last charge of cavalry in the army and fought the Moro's in the jungle.  He is on film on a white charger leading the charge.  Bill was a historian, a fellow adventurer, an archaeologist, an Olympic canoeist,  scholar and most importantly a dear friend.  Bill always believed we would save Legion Ville.  We would talk for hours about history, Anthony Wayne, the campaign, America and what it meant to us.  Bill died on January 29, 2003

TAPS

Day is done,
gone the sun,
From the hills,
from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well,
safely rest,

God is nigh.

A moment forever lost in time.
